• Economical way of grading and checking various metals in equivalent Rockwell C range of 20HRC to 67HRC
• Completely redesigned chassis made from aerospace aluminum houses a high quality displacement gauge
• Minimum sample thickness is 0.025" (6.35 mm) for most materials
• Shipped with factory-set preload, calibrated and ready to use
• Diamond tip indenter has been polished to a spherical radius of 0.004" and ground to an included angle of 60°
• Upper end (the shank) is the gripping area for insertion into a milling machine, drill press, or lathe
• Lower end is the load cell that extends up into the body of the hardness tester and houses a centreless ground precision spring which preloads the hardened steel indenter
• Direct reading analog dial is accurate to ±1.5 points
• The total force required to move the indenter through its full travel of 0.025" (6.35 mm) is 85 lbs. (38.56 kg)
